it's deja vu all over again.

i don't know if it's a symptom of being homesick or something else but, a lot of the people i have met here over the last couple of weeks remind me a lot of other people i know. and not just in mannerisms - richard upstairs reminds me a great deal of my great friend (tattoo artist) bill baker - but i meet people and i think - generally after they walk away and i have time to digest the conversation we had - 'that was weird'...i met a couple of guys yesterday at the organic market - one who runs/works for an organization called The Hub here in oaxaca, that helps small business' get shit done for lack of a better term. and after i finished talking to him i was sure i had met him before but i couldn't think where, but his face, his mannerisms, all of it...and then less than a minute later a guy came up to me and asked me if i was a giants fan as i was wearing my giants baseball hat and if i was from san francisco...nope i told him..and then we got into a long conversation about barry bonds - and the dick that he was/is and how happy we were he wasn't on the team when they won the world series, etc - and he told me of a great restaurant in marin county, etc...his name was mark jacobs and as he walked away i felt like i had met him before as well. and both of those meetings stayed with me for the rest of the day. at school people's individual personalities remind me of others but not in the same way three or four others have made me think, 'i feel like i've met that person before...'.
anyhow.
it's sunday morning and i have just finished doing some studying and will do more later on. (i also did a little tidy-up of the apartment...what a mess...) i need to get some fruit for tomorrow and the next day, various groceries, etc... i need to get a snack too. i'm also on the hunt for a bag that i can bring home to get groceries with. and not just any bag - i showed garvie one i had bought, a woven bag, that she wants one of so i'll get one of those - but a bag i've seen people with here coming from various markets. a heavy, handles bag that is super sturdy and would be great at home. plus it says the names of the various stores they given them out at - great graphics etc. i'm on the hunt. (the picture above is of one of the bags except this one was in a pile of garbage...)
ok. time to see if i have any water and try and have a shower.
