stress test

i rolled into boston this morning and had a nice little breakfast at the whole foods. at least i know i put something good in my body today...not much later but the breakfast was good stuff - oh...we had good tacos later on at anna's.
i got in touch with leora, and old friend from my citr radio and cbc radio days...i think we've been friends for over 25 years. yikes! while i was waiting to meet her i went by a t-mobile and asked about getting my cell phone changed so that i could call and text canada...and long story short - nope. well, not without spending another 60 bucks. at least. so i just will use the time i have on my US cell phone to get calls from canada or make calls i need to make here...which isn't many...and my canadian phone to text canada and such as it will cost about the same in the end as spending the extra money on more t-mobile action...or non-action. shitty. oh well.
it was great to see leora and see boston with her. she's been here for four years and knew some places to go and walk around. i was in boston once ages ago but just passed through on my way to see jaime in nova scotia so it was all new.
i like it.
then, after all the goodness...the stress came. leora knows a lot about small commuter airlines in europe from when she lived in england so i enlisted her help. she's probably sorry i did that now. it seemed for the first while i could not get the site i was on accept my credit card. over and over. and over and over. it was painful. finally after stressing out a little, low key compared to my former self from many years ago, it worked but i felt badly that leora had to see me have a bit of a meltdown. there was some swearing, no yelling, but some stern talking directed at the computer...leora was the calming force tonight. and so it was done. tickets booked after a bunch of pain. then i realized i had booked the wrong day for the flight out of london. i booked the 19th not the 20th. i leave here on the 19th but it's an over night flight so...it will be the 20th. that flight leaves for berlin from london in about 10 hours. oops. so i had to go back on-line and buy another ticket from london to berlin.

leora and i also met up with emily for dinner, a woman i know who lives in boston that i met while i was in mexico last year...well, a year and bit ago. she's awesome. very nice woman. but she had to hear about my screw-ups and while i tried to keep it all to myself and enjoy her and leora's company, every once in a while i would think about the ticket and the fact that i still needed to buy another one...but it was great to see her. she's still i love with her boyfriend that lives in oaxaca....that must be tough.
so i am now back out the highway getting ready to skype with ailsa and then go to bed. in the morning i will go by leora's place and have a shower before heading to the airport and my flight to london.
