ebay, cd's and sushi with devon
the fact that i had to stay home and wait for the couch guys put a little wrinkle in my day in terms of getting shit done but i, with the queen in tow for a short while, made it all kinda happen. after the couch guys left and i finished up a chat with daisley, i was ready to roll. the reason i had to move quickly was corie and i had a hockey game slated for 2:30 pm...so the queen and i made our way first to the pender street pharasave that also houses a postal outlet and where the ghost-kaws white chum-was waiting to be picked-up...that done we went to vist a hungover garbs down at the pickle. the queen was the first ever garbis industries customer. she purchased a blue version of the glitter bag. nice work. it looks good on her.
then it was off to grab tornack and make our way to hockey...we got smoked by a bunch of young bucks who just had a little more wind than the old guys...oh well...
on our way back we dropped by jj bean where i saw erin and bubbles who i haven't seen since the party last year at diana and jen with one n's place...corie mentioned that the great but reasonable priced susji place on 16th was about to open and we should go and get a post-game dinner/snack...yes. in line i/we ran into former cordova street hipster devon. devon was part of the cordova street cool period-at least that's how i think of it. during the early 90's cordova street was great. the block clothing store had a great coffee bar where i made and sold cookies. marcy worked at the block and salmagundi-i'm sure i spelt that wrong, scratch records was down there, gangland artists-alan and keith, the pantages boys across the street upstairs, michael turner, dream design, pussycat, etc..all great. don bull had an office down there as did jay scott and dave fortune. mondo lisa was the place for lunch and the cambiw was...well, it has always been shit. deluxe junk was actually good and devon was there as well. devon worked at pussycat and at dream design up until recently. she's very quick-witted and you kinda gotta keep up with her or you will be left behind...the last time i saw her-which is a long time ago now, was when i bought her a wierd, mocha mint frappe kinda coffee thing at soma at main and broadway-which by the way is/has moved as the building they were next to monsson has been sold...i smell starbucks...
anyhow, devon joined corie and me for some sushi goodness...that place is really good and not expensive considering what you get. i think daisley is a fan as well...and he hates everything.
ok...tonight is domestic duties night. i took the plastic off the couch, threw some garbage out, did some recycling, am watching some hockey as i do some laundry and will wash the elephant later on-it's a mess. i really need some groceries as well but that can wait until tomorrow.
ok..back to it...oh, and i will be loading more shit onto ebay....some of the cd's zulu didn't take and some 7" singles no one will probably want..so be it.

that is a sweet bag. could he make a wider one that fits more stuff than just a laptop? like a laptop plus a binder? and in black or grey or something more muted? just askin', heh.
i went to high school with devon. her name was not devon then but she is a lovely girl, to be sure.
also, i was thinking about that block of cordova and scratch in the basement last week. who knew that those would be the good 'ol days???
