yup..i went to point bob today to pick-up a parcel that contained a couple of baseball style hats from upper playground. going across the US border was the usual battery of retarded questions...but, surprisingly (for the first time in a long time...) i didn't have to go in and explain why i was just picking up some stuff 'for me' at the package depot...they made it clear, as usual, that they didn't have to let me down there to get my packages...blah, blah, blah...but it was on the way back when i was crossing the canadian border where it was a hassle...not huge but the questions were weird. let me point out that i have, of late, been coming clean with what i'm bringing into the country.
"where do you live"
"vancouver"
"canadian?"
"yes"
"how long were you away?"
"15 minutes"
"are you bringing anything back?"
"yes, i picked-up a parcel at the letter carrier"
"what's the value?"
"48 dollars"
"what is it?"
"a couple of baseball hats"
"how many are there?"
"two"
she then started looking in the back of the element at the mowers and such. and then she said..."are those commercial goods?"
unsure of what she was talking about...because she wasn't really looking at me but into the back of the car....i said, "which?"
to which she replied..."the hats"
"no, they're for me..."
she then just went silent for a few seconds and just looked at me finally saying, "ok."
and i was away.
i dunno...i guess it wasn't super weird but the silence and the staring at me was weird...maybe ya had to be there. just so suspect of a couple of baseball hats...
had a nice little lunch today with the fawnz at the red burrito before i headed out to point bob...her burrito was the size of a small child....she also showed me a pet tool she had just bought that take all the dead hair off your dog or cat....kind of a sexy number...
cut a couple lawns today, including a super long number up on fraser...and now am laying low until it's time to drive marcy to the airport watching the red wings/stars game...nice...
more later.
