i'm a somebody. just ask my mom. she'll tell you it's the truth. as i shuffle along getting shit done she's out there telling lies about me and some people believe it - god bless her. and today there's a whole new reason for her to be proud of me and the mark i may be leaving on the world. yup, the snapshots i took in arizona and california this last winter are now up at bean around the world on mainstreet and i'm sure she'll tell anyone who will listen that they should go by and have a look and enjoy a snack at the same time.
after i cut the doglawn this morning i met up with 'he who cannot be named', marcy and byron and went at throwing those babies up on the walls without getting in too many people's way. a big thank you to marcy and byron who made the process super painless and to 'he who cannot be named' for just staying out of the way - not that he's any good at hanging pictures anyways. i gve him a photo for xmas and he doesn't know where it is and i'm sure it'll never make it's way to a wall of any sort.
i think they look ok and i'm not entirely embarrassed having my name attached to them - maybe later after i get a few e.mails saying how crappy they are i'll feel differently - we'll have to see.
i included an artist's statement as well with some contact info and such so if anyone wants one of these pics they can let me know...but in case you are one of the people inquiring here's the deal...
all the photos are $119.00 framed up as you see them on the walls of bean around the world. why $119.00? well, the number one hockey player of all time is/was steve yzerman. he wore number 19 and like many of the signs in the photos, in the end was kinda beat-up and worn out - but still great. considering how much they cost to produce - the metalic paper, the framing and matting - it's a pretty good deal.
