yesterday when i was renting my flicks at blockbuster - a place i hate but i don't have a cool rental joint near me (black dog or...and there is videomatica but they're elitist pricks...) so i am forced into the blockbuster venue...anyhow...
the guys who work at my local are nice guys and always seem ready to help, the problem is often times they can't help...and by this i mean, they don't have what i want in stock. i have been wanting to start in on The Wire and went to get it and they had moved the entire stock of it to another store...what the fuck? like blockbuster can't afford to have a set of the series in every store? so their stock is limited and often when a new flick comes out they only get one copy on blu-ray so i'm shutout again generally. now, i have no film watching schedule so i don't like to reserve movies and then not pick them up or get them and not watch them, etc...
so i think i may go back to buying them and then selling them. i used to buy dvd's when i would go on trips that involved planes or trains. i'd buy them, watch them on the trip and then come back and sell them on craigslist or ebay. sure, it costs a little more but, i have it, i can watch it when i want and then get rid of it - because i don;t need a video library.
i also thought, and 'he who can not be named on the blog' had this idea as well, that i could get a flick, post that i have it and then lend it out to local blog readers and they could pass it around to a few plas and then get it back to me and then i would sell it...everyone getting a little piece of the pie. like netflicks in the states but from garnville...garnflicks...so i think i may start buying and we'll see if anyone wants to borrow them...or i'll just sell them. most will be blu-ray just so you know...
let's roll.
