a life lived differently

k-win just sent me a text telling me that mark linkous, of sparklehorse fame, had died by his own hand. sad. really, really sad.
i immediately checked the net and found this.
i remember in 1995 when i was living in my place in kits with brent and dave, that i had read a review of his first album, vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot, and decided i needed to hear it. and as dave said after we had listened to it, "there's nothing wrong with that album..." and it was true. and a fan i became.
i was lucky enough to see him perform twice - once at the starfish room and years later at richards. wonderful performer.
