the piece to the puzzle, as it were, was still at my place in gastown - my motorcycle. under a sheet to keep it from getting too dusty and to keep some of those losers who live there from fucking with it - out of sight/out of mind...i don't trust a few of the people there to mind their own business so...i had been trying to find a decent day to go and get it and bring it here and today seemed as good as any. so off i went to gastown today on the people's limo and after one kick got the bike running and out of the underground parking.
then i thought, "i should take this thing out for a spin..."
right.
so off i went to see my pal jessica at the ethical bean near the BOC shop. it's not far. i can see her and maybe tammy, have a coffee, chit chat and then ride home before it starts raining. sure, i can do that.
holy fuck. i didn't think it would be as cold as it was - and i had forgotten gloves so it was interesting watching my hands turn red in the wind as i rode along. really neat. really cold. i arrived at the ethical bean and was ok, but i'll tell you, the ride home from there was intense - and i've ridden in the cold before but somehow today just felt worse. crisp and fun at first, cold and nasty after that.
anyhow. it's here now and i feel better about that.
and now i can relax a little, read some of my richard ford novel and then go meet the fawnz for dinner downtown later...nice.
