singin' sopranos, perogies and hard candy.
yesterday was a bit of a bust. i had plans to work on some shelves for my friend's store, and i did, but in the end i may have to switch gears and go at it from a slightly different direction. no biggie. i did mill an ipod holder out of aluminum for my element. it seems to work ok-better than no holder at all i suppose. and that was that. a lot of time at BOC just thinking and looking at stuff and then driving around. very exciting. i ended-up ion granville island because i needed to drop off some supplies to the garbs for the bags and when i was there met a woman from portland who was buying a ring. turns out she's a soprano and was in ton to audition for a gig in banff. good luck to her. she bought herself a trinket and was on her way. very nice woman.
the companion is ukranian-i think, or her dad is i think. andhow. she asked me the other night if i'd go with her to a ukranian centre/church up on main street for thier monthly perogie and sauerkraut hoedown. sure. why not? so there we were in a giant hall off of main street with a whole lot of folks chowin' down of cabbage rolls and sausage. i was surprised by how many hipsters i saw there. lots of folks from the old clountry, but relly, a bunch of hipsters enjoying the cabbage.
we also watched hard candy last night. i'm still sorting that one out in my head. did i like it? maybe. sort of a fucke-up morality tale or revenge movie...hhmmmm...shot well though.
then i slept the sleep of the dead. more hockey today and tomorrow.
good times.
