and the lesson for today is...
don't do stuff in the shop that could, possibly, be dangerous unless someone else is around. this is the lesson i learned today-one i really already knew but today had hammered into my head-for real.
it's kind of a long story but today-after having a nice lunch with muc at bosa-i decided to go over to BOC na dwork on a project which involved me using the metal lathe. and doing something on the lathe i had done before and felt confident enough to do again. but today wasn't my lucky day. as the metal started spinning- a 7" I.D. piece of hollow round aluminum - it spun off the chuck and into my head as soon as the tool touched it. ouch!
and then came the blood. i don't know how many of you have witnessed a head injury but they bleed like no other and now i had a front row seat. i went to the phone and called corie just so he would know where i was in case i passed out-which could have happend. i then went next door to the autobody shop where they called 911 and i got to have a ride in an ambulance up to burnaby generla hospital.
i won't bore you with all the details but in the end, i have stiches, nine i think, and a big headache. i was trying to figure out who lived the closest so i wouldn't have to put anyone out and then remembered marcy worked just a little down boundary so i called her and she came and got me and took me back to the shop. i had to clean-up all the blood and turn off the lights etc...
so lunch today was great but the after lunch part kinda sucked....
i need some dinner...
have fun.
i'll be downing advils.
