hot dogs, sun and interstate hazmat.

after a day that started in a laundry room – well, after my shower it did, things went pretty well. did some shopping for the voltage kids, ate some food, found the ball park, etc...they are experiencing record highs here and i’m just so darn happy to be a part of it. i am sunburned. no question about it – not terribly but enough that when the water hit my head this morning and ran down my neck, in the shower, i felt it.
after the game yesterday in peroria – home of the padres and mariners spring training, i headed to tucson to see spike. there is also baseball there so it was twofold – my plan, but the interstate would not be my pal. there was a huge accident involving a tanker truck and car that resulted in the entire interstate being shut down until eleven pm last night. so I had to take an alternate route to get to tucson which took me by the biosphere and through some smaller towns. it was fine but a bit of an adventure. i had told spike i would be coming there/here so i figured i better show if i was in the neighbourhood.
spike’s friend daniel is visiting from winnipeg so it was nice to meet him, finally after hearing his name for years. in the last few months she’s had a few pals visit her. i was here in december, mishi in feb., and now daniel and me. i slept out in my car in front of her place last night, it was great – much cooler at night here than in phoenix.
there’s a game today here at hy corbett field – a place I’ve been before when i was hear a few years ago for spring training and visited spike’s parents. they’re super cool. before the game we’re all gonna have lunch at the congress hotel and then i’ll head to the game. there’s also a game in phoenix tonight i’m going to try and make as well….we’ll see. i’m gonna go to trader joe’s , etc, get some shit done and then have lunch, see the game here and hit the road back to phoenix.
