i know this is a little hard to swallow for those of you stuck in the rain and shit but, and i know how bad it sounds but, ok. it may be too hot to sit and watch baseball today. as i was telling the companion - sometimes it's too cold and rainy, and sometimes it's too fuckin' hot. yesterday in tucson i could only manage 8 innings at hi corbett feild during the game between the oakland a's and colorado rockies. it was 90 degrees and so freakin' dry-and the game wasn't a barnburner either so... and truthfully, that park is kinda a shithole so it's not any great loss that i left a little early. also, i had to park a long way away so the walk back in the dry heat was a bit of a killer as well. it was dollar hot dog day at hi corbett and they had to put a limit on the amount people could buy. it was kinda sad, people walking away with six dogs at a time. i didn't even have one-food was not on my mind as spike, daniel and i had just had lunch at the Cup. the cup is a small restaurant inside the congress hotel. the congress hotel is famous for many things but most notably the fact that dillinger and his gang were holed-up there for a while. mishi loves the congress. they make a great margarita there.
after the game in tucson i went back to spike's and had a shower and then headed back to phoenix to see the night tilt between the san francisco giants and seattle mariners. i love night games. less heat, great crowds, good ball...i had a dog there-no screamin' hell but a dog nonetheless. i sat next to a group of people who knew one of the players on the giants. i'm not sure if he's an every day player but he went 1-4 and was nothing to write home about. and his mom was yakking up a storm. the m's lost in the end and i headed back out the highway to the laundry room to blog it up-but not before having a little late night snack at in-n-out burger. then, night night.
i'm still on the fence about the game today. i'll see how it all shakes out. if it's as hot as yesterday i may have to head back to the coast. i may be having lunch with a guy i know from the kid robot boards - ronnie. we'll see.
so far i've seen the giants, mariners, a's, rangers, padres and rockies. i'd like to see the royals today but...i may be to wimpy for the heat. stay tuned. also, if you haven't seen them yet-there are a bunch of pics posted below this post from the trip thus far. blogger finally got it going again so i can post pics.
