short trip.
i arrived at the ferry ticket thing in horseshow bay only to discover i had missed the 8:30 am ferry and that the next ferry was 10:30 am...fuck that. i told the woman i couldn't do that wait and got a refund...and quick. i'll, maybe, try again another day-after the big ball falls.
see the cost on that ticket. that's insane. i can drive to seattle, have lunch and back again for less than it costs to go to/from vancouver island. there is something really wrong with that. seriously. as it is, i hardly ever venture over there, and, if my father didn't live over there, i would never go. ever.

personally, i enjoy bc ferries extra charge for the person driving the vehicle. as if the vehicle could make it on to the ferry w/o said person. nice cash grab.
