there's a new farmer in town
rosanne - a co-worker/friend of marcy's and , i guess, a friend of mine, e.mailed me and asked if i could cut the lawn at her new place. she and her husband larry have just purchased a new place and have yet to inhabit it and needed the lawn cut. i knew, since they weren't living there yet, that it would be a long lawn - and it was. miranda and my friend jessica s. had previously held the records for the longest lawns lawn order has had to tackle but rosanne's may have beaten them. and really, the length was one thing, but the thickness of the lawn was another. the back yard was very thick and lush and in the end there was enough grass to fill the city provided garden clippings rolling box and a huge industrial black garbage bag. the bag was so heavy in the end i could barely get it in the car. i cut the back yard four times. i could have let it go at three but i really wanted to get it as close to regular as i could. it wasn't a good start to today as it was raining off and on but i saw a glimpse of blue sky and got at it...ended up doing the dog lawn in richmond and then heading out to issy's to give her a new lawn order hoodie. i had thought about going to seattle tonight to see richmond fontaine at the tractor tavern but decided not to....sometimes the border just makes it seem to hard.
oh and like an idiot today, after cutting rosanne's lawn, i went to bean around the world and bought a piece of banana bread and a drink...and left the drink on the counter and walked out, got in my car, and drove away....i'm such an idiot.
so now it's veggie burgers and bad tv...i really know how to rock on a friday night....
