in my quest to find out more about letterpress and type and ....i have taken to volunteering my time to sorting type and lead spacers at the regional assembly of text. where? just one of the cooler shops to pop-up aroun vancouver in the past few years.

anyhow...they have a small hand letterpress in the back of their shop and i spent a few hours the last couple of days hanging out, telling stroies (what's new?) and straightening out some lead spacers for the letterpress that had been dumped on the floor a while back. i'm hoping to try my hand at the hand press in the next whle maybe making some LAWN ORDER business cards or maybe something to put on a wall or...fuck, i don't know. i do know this...brandy and rebecca (becky), the big wheels at the assembly are great. the fact that they've let me hang around speaks volumes about their willingness to help the less fortunate. soon i will be the letterpress king of vancouver. maybe. maybe not.
last night when i was out returning my lawn gear to the shop i saw a couple of things i want to take a few photos of so after i get off here i'm gonna go and do that - i didn't have my camera last night. i also had a couple of calls regarding pricing on a couple lawns so i may do a drive-by and see what's what and then e.mail back some quotes. them lawns they just on growin'.
