i'll eat that for a buck

this morning after having coffee in my motel six hotel room - which of course meant firing up katherine's little stove which is kinda fun in a hotel room - i made my way to nogales, AZ, and got my shit together - changed some american dollars to pesos, bought some water, gassed up...and away i went. the border was a bit of a thing, or not a thing - depending on how you looked at it. i didn't speak to any mexican border guards but instead american military kinda border guys - well, one guy. and after a few questions i was away - and by away i mean making my way through the maze that is nogales, mexico. construction, bad signage, guys running up to my car trying to sell me insurance, other guys trying to navigate the way outta town - it was cool...in a slightly stressful way. but in the end i made it to the highway and was away...kinda. i then had to stop, about ten miles down, to get a visa fort me and a permit for my car. and for something they do all the time, they sure do it in a slow, kinda fucked-up fashion, but, 50 bucks or so later i was legal and driving away. good times.
i have to say, it was a great day...i had a great time..i ate crap off of stands by the side of the road i probably shouldn't have eaten - i'll pay later - or sooner - but we'll see. i had a great, sort of, burrito thing at a place called tin tins and some ceviche - and i'm not a fan of that stuff but it was wicked - at another place by the highway...all in all a great day.
i've been told by many who drive down here that i shouldn't travel at night and that i shouldn't pull my usual bit of sleeping in my car either...so for the second night in a row i am sleeping at a hotel - tonight a best western in navojoa. i may go for a little walk later on and look for some trouble...or not. i'm pretty baggedd so i may just hunker down and get some rest and get on the raod early tomorrow...

have fun. i hear the protesters are being retards in vancouver - sure i hate the ioc/vanoc but i'm not a window smasher or paint thrower...those idiots. but i do have to say after watching the whole thing last night - the whole fucking thing - that the opening ceremonies was lame....but hey, they only had five or six years to plan it afterall...

ok. night night.

g. xo

when in mexico get your buck burrito thingy at tin tin's.

there are shrines all along the highway. some are shrines to the gods or spititual figures others are to people who have died in accidents along the highway.

this place has great ceviche. you should go...

ready to rock...

i was surprised to see these in cases as they're mainly strewn all over the place along the side of the highway smashed to rat shit.

and this is for mishi who loves the sabritas peanuts..i had some today...nice and limey and spicy...
oh goodness gracious this was good...
