knockin' it down in the city

rosanne, of flower factory fame, and larry, of utility grade fame, needed some help taking the vinyl siding off of their house and had asked me if i was game...sure i was, and, after a few false starts - or at least vague e.mails saying when we were gonna do it - yesterday became the big teardown...they have a beautiful old house just off fraser street that will definately look great once the wood is exposed and fixed-up and painted...but first, off with the vinyl.
i did a little swearing, to be sure - although rosanne did remark at one point how little swearing i actually did - but all in all it went very well. i think we kicked some vinyl siding ass. i have a few nice scrapes and cuts but i'm happy with the end result. i hope they are too...
i also dropped by sanitary electric yesterday and had a nice visit with chad...i think the new lawn order tattoo is finally in the works...who doesn't need a tattoo of a lawn mower on them...? sounds good to me...
fellow bomber and all around good guy damon came over last night and had a little visit at chez garn. damon started playing some bomber hockey a while back as he had become pals with cam andrews, who, in turn, brought him into the fold. damon turned out to be bomber material right away and we're happy to have him on board. and as this is the smallest city in the world, damon is married to a woman i went to high school with in tsawwassen, kathy. as the world turns. damon is a film maker who is working, currently, on a documentary in my 'hood and was around last night so he dropped by. nice.
this week is a wierd one with me trying to get all my lawns in order and have them sorted before i head off to santa cruz or wherever. lawns that don't need it today will surely need it by the end of the week and i'm trying to paly the final hockey games of the season as well...blah, blah, blah...there'll be a little cutting in the rain today - which i've mentioned before that i don't mind so much - for a short while.
ok.

i'm off. have a great wed.

g. xo

nice house those kids have...which will be minus the brown vinyl...soon.

no lawn mower tattoo for me, but i am looking for someone to eventually do a full back piece for me- a garden full of flowers, insects & perhaps a tree. i already have three butterflies back there & want to tie them into the piece. it would be cool to be able to extend the work & have random insects or vines or flowers here & there all over as well.
so if you know anybody good who's into crazy wild gardens- i'm willing to travel from the island to get to them. :)
