between now and back

it's been a while, but here goes.
it's been a busy time since thursday. lawns and such and a very nice lunch on thursday with marcy and issy at the cactus club on marine drive - i know i've said it before but, since that grump rob fennie took over, the food is pretty fuckin' good...
thursday night was a very nice diner with ailsa at lolita's on davie st...i hadn't been there in a while - opting for me and julio's on commercial drive lately...a whole load of small stuff instead of a big plate each...good stuff....thanks garvie!
friday saw the return of the group dinner at topanga cafe....a fest put together by katherine on a day that proved to be quite trying for me...very, but katherine convinced me to forge ahead and that time with friends is time well spent...she was right and i ended my day far better because of that time spent...thanks katherine.
again, more lawns on friday, a few on saturday and the mother of all long lawns today - a long lost, but recently re-found pal, contacted me and asked me to help her daughter out. her daughter had just moved into a place not far from the boc, and the other tenants didn't seem too fussed about getting the lawn cut, she, however, did care...so i went over today and helped her out...
also a pretty good bomber game on saturday that saw us win our first game of the spring season....sure, they had less players than us but, we won...so there. sunday also saw the east van expos, a team i am now a proud member of , win our first game of the new season. good stuff being out there knocking the ball around...really great group of people...
and tonight it was burgers with issy for mother's day...sure, mother's day is all about burgers...the garbs and i made our way out to the land of issy and we all mowed down a burger each...and dessert...happy mother's day issy! issy leaves for europe next saturday so i knew it was the last burger she'd probably eat before she left...and i was glad to be able to make that happen.
ok...it seems like it's been non-stop since wed. but i'm gonna hang loose tomorrow...i think...
