this morning i wanted to check out tooley's origianl restaurant for breakfast in the hidden barrio. (i went to their coffee shop near the congress yesterday...) we got there around 9 am and they weren't open yet -it said on the web site that they were open at 7:30 am...no biggie...we drove around and then went back...spike tried to order...
"i'll have the yogurt, granola and fruit..."
"we're out of yogurt...and the we don't have any fruit..."
"oh...but you have granola...?"
"no. we don't. the only fruit we have are strawberries..i make shopping lists but they never get anything."
"do you have toast?"
"yes...oh, wait...no, we don't"
and so it went until spike just ordered some banana bread and i ordered some huevos rancheros...that came with more beans than any one person should eat at one time...
it was ok...not the best huevos ever, but decent...
as we were finishing up our food i overheard the staff talking about a door that they were having trouble with...and they needed a screwdriver. i told them if they needed a screwdriver i had one. i went and got my toolbox, such as it is, and met the guy - who was also the cook who made my food - at the door he was fucking with and couldn't open...after some of this and some of that, me doing the work and him watching, we got the door open and i managed to tell him what the problem was...but that he'd need a new door knob assembly...anyhow, i got them through the shit and now the door opens...then, we tipped our server and left...i'm glad i could help out.
i'm gonna leave here today and head northwest...i may stop in phoenix, maybe not...i have been watching the weather reports and it looks grim...and i hate the snow through the northern california mountains and am thinking of just getting it over with...but then again, there is the el presidente to consider...
