tennis balls and a sore ass.

that was my monday.
after a long sleep downstairs i finally brought my old brodie catalyst up to the apt. the other night and gave it a decent going over. i love that bike. i used to live on it. believe it or not, at one point in my life i rode more than i drove. easily. a bad back, sore knees and less desire to ride all played a part in riding less - as did working 12 hours a day and not feeling like doing much after work.
so after gettin some new pedals and the quick clean-up i was away...and i have to say it was a little nerve wracking...or racking...whatever. i have a crusier bike that i bought a few years ago that i am kinda now used to even though i don't ride it much either - but the ride and such is so different on it that i was a little taken aback at my ussy nature on the bike - i was scared a few times.
i used to whip through traffic at speeds far too fast for downtown, and now, i was using the brakes down robson street towards the park like i was scared i was gonna crash...such a baby. and there's nothing like getting on a bike after a long layover to feel old and outta shape - because i am (but shauna and i have been trying to make better on that as we've been hitting the gym more often and trying to eat right not whatever and whenever we want...which really goes against everything fun and good but in the end is better for ya...i think..it fuckin' better be...) so maybe soon my pants will fit a little better - if not then it's burgers and burritos for an entire month followed by more burritos.
so i rode around town yesterday and got a very sore ass - which always seems to happen after i've been off the old ride for a while and then it settles in - and while out there i dropped by to watch mishi and the garbs play tennis near lost lagoon. they love the tennis and mishi even had her fancy white tennis shoes on. i took a couple of action shots, played a few volleys and then hit the road...i had shit to do.
muc's in town so i'm gonna go and get him and see what kind of trouble we can get into - which probably won't be much since we're both over 40 and are both scared of going to jail...
more later.
