after yesterday's fiasco with sets of keys and dead batteries i made due, very well, with my legs...used 'em for walkin'. like god intended.
i made my way over to propellor to pick-up a cutting board i had fixed for shauna, saw the kids there and watched them put together some lights, write a few e.mails and fly at getting ready for a couple of shows they're doing. one of which is Swell. a future friendly design show. and the other is a show they have a piece in called Movers and Shapers. which seems to be a who's who of local hipster dofus designers - that's a loving term it really is....(but i'm sure there's a few knobs in there as well - there always is...but not our Propellor kids...) i love them kids. they're good to me.
after my time at propellor i headed over to second city signs on venables near commercial to get a door sign thingy shauna had ordered for her web design business, hey shauna - check it out....her web site not her new door sign. then i trucked over to her office at cambie and hastings, then over to pay some bills on robson street....what's with all the vacation bills showing up at once...? shitty. paying for having a good time elsewhere sucks.
while out there in the world of robson street i ran into dan so we had a nice coffee and chit chat at artigiano on hornby...he's a good man our man dan. he then walked with me down to my neck of the woods where i/we ran into my old pal richard parker who is a big wheel with heatherbrae construction who is doing a load of work in my hood. i asked him if he could get me a job as a clean-up mook...he said he could so ya never know...it's close to home so that would be good.
and then....well, marcy was good enough to give me a ride to get a new battery for larry, then i met up with shauna and then ang and then bonifaro and her pal jill and went to see the show at the VAG. emilie, who is fantastic (but you know that) works at the VAG and got us in for free - nice, so it was art day in the big city after doing a ton of walking....good times. thanks em.
then it was time to head to whole foods for some snacks and groceries...and we bought.....nevermind...anyhow...anyway you slice it, it was a big day. oh, and i bought a new blue hoodie.
ok...i have shit to do. and so do you.
bye.
g. xo
dan and richard...two good guys in one spot.
who the hell does this to their dog?
this is changin' in my hood...and fast.
