it's all coming back to me now. the rocks flying into my head as i weed eat near rocks- yes i wear eye protection...the thorns of the blackberry bushes at keith's, the tightening of nuts and bolts as they vibrate loose lawn after lawn after lawn....i love it...and on a day like today when the garbs is out there with me, it's pretty great - even when it's going badly - when the wheels fall off - literally, when the tools have to be brought out to fix something and when you run outta fuel - human fuel - and the thought of one more run around the grass is just a little much....it's still pretty fuckin' great.
the garbs announced when i inquired as to what he'd like for lunch - maybe a bosa sandwich, a burger...nope, today was the big day he's been talking of for a long time.today was the five taco dinner - beans, rice and all - at topanga cafe. five beef tacos, all loaded up with all the goods - lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, sour cream, olives, beef, etc...five of 'em...
so off we went...after dropping off the mowers at lawn order HQ, it was a straight line to topanga. the kids there were a little taken aback by the thought of it but then they realized who they were dealing with...i was happy to have been a part of it. and really, he made it look easy...effortless. and then after he cleaned up his plate, it was time for cake. i could only salute him.
you're the man garbs. i love ya.
a good day for cutting...and even better day for eating tacos.
