can ya give a guy a hand?....

interesting morning....
after i got my collective shit together i went downstairs and tried to start larry who has been sitting for a little while - long enough that his battery was dead. so with the help of the elephant i gave him a jump and after a warm-up, headed for midas on main street to get the muffler hanger, that was broken, fixed. easy enough. then while in the intersection line-up at main and terminal, after giving larry a little too much gas off the line - i was actually a few cars back - he stalled and having not run him enough to get the battery charged up again, i was fucked. sure, now it was raining and snowing a little..good times. sure, i have jumper cables, sure..yup. but who the hell's gonna give me a jump?..i phoned a couple of people i thought may be up early saturday morning only to be met with answering machines but finally got through to the queen who said she'd be right there...thanks goodness....in the meantime (that's a great album...) people drove by me looking very confused by the guy with the old car with the hood up..one fella decided honking at me over and over was gonna help out, nope, people pulled up behind me and waited, and waited finally figuring out i wasn't going anywhere, but none stopped to help. to offer a jump. i had my cables attached and ready to go if anyone did..and then, like a beacon in the night, a guy in an old red camper van motioned with his hands through his windshield that he was gonna help...nice. he had that look like he knew what i was going through - and i have to say i'm kinda proud of myself, i was very calm throughout the whole thing, i mean, what could i do exactly...anyhow, he stopped, we hooked up the cables and i turned over larry and we were done...and he was gone. thanks dude. and seconds later the queen showed-up...i met her in the midas parking lot, we chatted, they said they'd fix the muffler pronto, and she was away. thanks jennifer. she's off to take whitey's children shopping in surrey - at a mall....and i had to put her through coming to help me too....sorry.
then it was off to the shop to get some crap i forgot there and back home to start part two of my day....

good times..

so i told the waitress i felt like having a drink but i didn't know what...so she picked a wine for me to have. i told her i didn't drink wine but for the sake of things i would try it - i mean there it was at the table already.... hell, it's the holidays...and i did tell shauna recently that i would try wine from time to time...maybe one day i'll actually like it....and i have to say, it was pretty good. who knew?...
