riding with gaary

after a morning of hopping free rides on public transit - not so much on purpose but because the accordian bus opens it's back doors and many get on through the back door - i assume they all have passes or transfers but i didn't and was hot and sweaty - a little - and needed to get to the chiro, and it was 8 a.m. and i needed to be there at 8:15 a.m. - or so i thought - it was actually 845 a.m. - anyhow...a free bus ride because i wasn't about to walk to the front of the bus through a hundred - literally - people to drop money in the coin slot like a chump so...free ride harry i was today. so be it. so, after the free bus ride, the chiro and then a nice little capers smoothie snack, i am now at the island - the pickle - selling the wares of mishi and the garbs.
one of the pleasures of working the pickle is the riding of gaary to the market...gaary does, indeed, have two A'S in his name...even though 'he' is a women's style bike, he's a he...just is. found in an alley in either calgary or edmonton by a touring SNFU, gaary made his way to my kits apt. and lived there for many years before making the move to gastown with me and hanging from the ceiling there for ten years. he moved the pickle a while ago and has been living here ever since...and recently had a hair dressing head attached to him...for good luck or good something...i like it. when i'm here i, often, leave gaary outside the pickle and today he has been the subject of many photographs by the touristos. they love gaary. i love gaary.
it's been an ok day here at the pickle - with the exception of the power outage that threatened to end my day here, but all's well in the land of electricity now - with a few good sales made...i also made my way over to the market, saw lyndsay (not sandwich lindsay but jj bean coffee lyndsay..), bought us bagels and then made away with some organic boar salami and greyuer cheese....nice...i shouldn't eat cheese but sometimes i can't resist..and that greyuer is wicked.
ok..back at it...

have a great monday.
