i stopped and grabbed a slurpee on the way outta surrey...why does every slurpee counter look like this....?
without thinking about it, as in no decision was made in advance to eat indian food before we headed out to surrey to the fusion fest, after we finished at the shop - sara needed to print off some stuff to help make her famous...or more famous or something - we went to a place for indian food on hastings for dinner...it was good...then we headed out to surrey and the world famous surrey fusion fest...which when we got there was a serious bhangra fest...so having eaten indian food in advance we were already in a festive indian mood....and if we had been thinking, or i had been thinking, we would have thought that they may have had a food fair at the fusion fest, which they did, and we could have had a little food from india, some first nations fare, some chinese, etc...but no...we went full indian...not that i regret it...just, i could have sucked down some crazy noodles or something before the joel plaskett rock action...
after finding parking, a little bit of a test where i had a minor meltdown, it was all good and we were on our way into the fusion fest...
we found marcy and byron and before long there he was, mr. plaskett and his band the emergency and while, initially, i was a little bummed at his first few numbers - he seemed to be playing to the family crowd - which he kinda has to at a function such as that, he opened 'er up and let it go soon after and i can't say i've seen a better live performer in a long time. a true entertainer. i'm glad we made the trek out to the old surrey fusion fest...
