more rod stewart needed...

i have decided that i need more rod stewart on my ipod. this rod stewart thing goes back a long way so i feel i come by it quite legitimately. issy loved rod when i was growing up and i heard 'every picture tells a story' many, many times in my youth. i developed a bit of a hate-on for rod for a while, much like the one i had for the rolling stones. later when i was around 12 or 13 i started to listen to rod again. kip, who lived across the street, really loved rod sterwart's music, and would play it for me all the time. a night on the town, atlantic crossing, tonight's the night, etc. all started to grow on me as did the songs from every picture tells a story. when i was in my teens i saw rod on more than one occassion, in fact, maybe more than five times i would say...and then later on we took issy to see rod-she had always said she loved his music but didn't like looking at him...she really like it...we even bought her a rod stewart t-shirt as a momento. so now, or lately at least, when i listen to 'you wear it well', or 'maggie may' i can't help but get a little nostalgic. sure, he's become something other than he ever was but it's pretty hard to deny his importance in the grande scheme of things. from his work with the faces through his solo career...man, there are tracks on atlantic crossing that are killer.

have a great weekend...i'm gonna go look at a new honda element..it just may be the ticket.

now that i think of it nazareth's loud and proud really is a killer as well...i need to get that one too...
