where have i been....? what the hell....?

how did wed. suddenly turn into saturday morning..? well, it did and here i sit with a slight cold and slight headache wondering what the? ....the coffee and orange juice is helping things along and really, my head needs to be cleared after last night's Push Festival performance on granville island - more on that in a second...or two.
it was good to see marc here during last week and after he left, i was sitting at home and for a second had an image of him, in my head, of him sitting on the plane waiting to get to smithers. just sitting there, reading a magazine, in his new shoes, wishing smithers had better mexican food.
i have been trying to get shit done before i head back to work monday, and for the most part have been doing well in that dept. but, i just couldn't seem to get a dentist's appointment. well, not that i couldn't, i just didn't phone and get it done. lame. and i don't have a problem with the dentist, i have a decent guy and martha, the woman who does the cleaning, she's wicked...i just would think about calling, and then something shiny would catch my eye and i was off in that direction. lame. i'll get ot done, but now it'll be during the show and joel will be pissed off and well, that will be that....
another thing i had been trying to do was have a nice sit down lunch with bomber and all around great guy steve smith...and yesterday was the day. steve lives close to the BOC shop and i met him at the ethical bean near bosa and we ate like, well, not quite like champs, more like responsible adults - soup, nice sandwich (which by the way, if you care, the sandwiches at ethical bean are made by la grotta on commercial drive so they're wicked...) and as evidence of the small town we live in, steve's wife jane, who is apparently super duper, works with another super duper woman, fawn, at global. steve managed to throw his shoulder out of whack while up at apex for the hockey tourney the bombers were involved in...he's old. like me, maybe older, and went skiing in between games and fell and fucked up his shoulder...he's on the mend and will be fine. i think he'll be behind the bench tonight...coach smith.
yesterday i took my mower in to Champion to get the timing fixed..i nailed a piece of sidewalk during my last cut of the year, last fucking cut, and it needed to get the timing fixed...i thought it was gonna cost a whack of dough but he said he could fix it for 40 bux...nice...i wanted to get it done before every one else started bringing thier mowers in, as the first cut is only five or so weeks away...so somehow i managed to get that done but i can't get my teeth cleaned...hhmmm. i know it's still early but yesteday when i had the mower in the back of the car, the gas smell made me think of mowing and grass and ....i'm ready to cut. and for the record, for something that i thought would be a casual thing at best, this season is gonna be Lawn Order's fifth. a new shirt is in the works.
last night shauna and i went to a Push Festival show down on granville island (where we ran into erin shaw - champ)..and it had such great potential, the show. the show/piece is called Assembly and i'm not going to go into a great disertation about the premise but, it was, early on, a participation piece, kinda, and i did, participate. and there were laughs, lots of them, early on...and then the middle section came, and the laughs were less...and then the end section...which, um, kinda sucked and made you wanna leave and go home. it was too bad. it was based on motivational speaking and the actors, i think and thought at the time, were good. too bad some people just take things a little too far and/or rely on old stand-bys to move it along. anyhow...nice to get out and do something interesting...tomorrow afternoon we're going to another one and i'm hoping for a better result.
today is lazy so far...i need to go and grab the mower, that'll take a few minutes, play hockey at 6:45 pm, i think, and then go tonight and grab a piece of the topanga stove and fix it by sunday morning so they have it for work monday morning....all very exciting. and hopefully this cold thing will go away by monday morning as well when i have to start making movie magic.

have a great saturday.
