it was actually a last cut on a new lawn. a guy contacted me and said he needed one last cut for the season and was too lazy, his words, to do it himself...so could i? yup. so up to north van i went this morning, only a couple blocks from craig's place and gave it a last go for the season. it was all good until i discovered the extra large trampoline on the backyard. it must be a neighbourhood thing because craig has one large trampoline in his backyard too. the guy next door was talking to me like i lived there and telling me or asking me if i knew he had been broken into on monday...nope, didn't know...he seemed disappointed when i told him i didn't live there and just stopped talking and walked away. turns out, on monday someone went into his place, which is for sale, and stole all of his appliances - which is funny because as i pulled up to start cutting, i saw a truck unloading new appliances and thought, "that's some nice new shit they're getting...." bummer.
it was a day to get shit done. i went and met-up with the garbs and we loaded some boxes into the car to take to issy's basement - later we were gona get his BMX bike to put in the car as well to take to issy's as well. we then drove around and looked at a couple lawns i was scheduled to cut but in the end none of them needed it - late in the season like this (and fuck, it is november after all...) so, it's all over but the crying. i just need to out the heat on a couple clients to get paid...the laurie mercer syndrome seems to happen near the end of the season with some of them, although, unlike laurie (who is still a fucking loser...) they all come around and pay up...like good people do, not like laurie, who is an asshole. tonight i'll send out the final bills and wait. like i did with laurie, who's a dick.
had a nice visit with issy today who has been nursing louie back to better health. louie had a thing, i only know it as a thing, removed from one of his legs...he has to wear one of those cone thigs on his head so he doesn't fuck with it. he's a good fella though and doesn't seem to fussed by it.
i also drove around dropping off lawn order gear - dr. yvonne got her gear as did her husband rob, my pal dave in tsawwassen - all looking good now...and speaking of gear, i went and saw ricardo today and he gave me one of the hoodies he made for his clothing line...it may not be a great look on me but i really like it...a black hoodie with a skull on it...not a biker style skull...bitchin'.
the garbs dad, bob, showed-up today on granville island, out of the blue and when i went back to the island to get a coffee he and the garbs had left and were walking home and ended-up running into mishi and me at headquarter on burrard. bob liked headquarter i think. and for anyone who cares, there's some good shoes on sale there for 50 bux each...etnies, vans, etc...just so ya know.
ok...home now...i need a snack.
g. xo
i ordered up some new new balance shoes and issy picke them up for me! thanks issy. here's the new with the old...time to toss them i think.
