cutting for the dogs or kids or....

i got a call the other day, actually an e/mail, from the kids who run the vet. clinic asking me if i could cut the dog lawn one more time- if my stuff hadn't been put away. well, my stuff had been away for almost a month but i like rob and yvonne so...out to richmond i went today (i didn't even take the trailer i just stuffed everything in the element and away i went..) and gave it one more cut. there were a lot of leaves but i managed to make it all work. yvonne was there and i told her i had never cut in december before and that today's cut was for the kids that any money was to go to the empty stocking fund. or something. just seemed like if i was cutting in dec. it should go to a santa of some sort.
she was down with that...nice.

speaking of nice - two things - we had a very nice dinner last night with katherine and corie over at ailsa's place (great hostess...even better cook..) we teamed up to make a texas chili/stew that i had made before and i think it turned out pretty well...and it went well with the cornbread and fancy salad garvie made to go with it. and this morning after a some coffee and light snacks we went for a little walk around the hood before i broke off to go cut the dog lawn. along the way we saw this house that is into the xmas spirit a little early.

my japanese maple is trying to hang onto its leaves but it's a losing battle. after it all goes south i'll do a pruning as i did last year. i want to keep it small and under control.
bomber hockey yesterday saw me talking the reins on defense instead of forward as we were short players...and while i didn't pull any super boners, i was hardly awesome but that's ok...all part of getting out for a good sweat. we managed to pull out a 2-1 win despite the other team scoring approx. 20 seconds into the game...
tonight - cowboy hockey out at eight rinks then pizza and a movie at ailsa's...then i'm gonna sleep like a champ.

have fun.
