go tigers, pancho rides again and s.f. feels like home...

maybe because i've been here so many times now, especially in the past few years....buying larry, visiting laurie, coming just to go to pancho villa, etc...i feel like i knwo this town. truth be told though, i kinda go to the same places over and over...i like it though, or i like certain things about it. would i want to live here....nope? but i do like to drive through and get a burrito and, like today, watch some baseball.
i had never been to a playoff baseball game and today seemed like the perfect time. the tigers were in the playoffs against oakland and i was in town...i looked at the tickets section of craigslist and found a guy who had one for sale...most of the people had pairs of tickets for sale....the game was sold-out so i took what he had...john, that's his name, met me at the park and we sat together and talked about shit and watched the game... we were seated next to a couple wanna-be gangbangers and a couple of hillbillies from mount shasta...isiots.
it was fun...the tigers kicked ass and then i went to pancho villa for a little dinner. i had combo number one...flauta, chicken enchilada and a chili renellno...i can't spell....

now i need to fins somewhere to sleep..i think i'll head to santa cruz...i think...

i just can't make up my mind...i cut in towards the coast again....like the last time. the I-5 is killing me lately...so it will take far longer to get to s.f than planned...but i really don't have a set plan so...i guess it doesn't matter...
i'm in eureka, CA stealing internet from some hotel...i should be able to make the baseball game to tomorrow night. i may whip out out las gattos to get the 'el presidente' before the game....i dunno. i need the 'el presidente'.....i need it bad....

turkey, plexi-glass and thoughts of the road...

so after six robaxacet (sp?), one codiene 222, several advil and a hot bath i was able to mow four lawns yesterday and then go and play hockey last night with corie. (actually i had a few pills, went and mowed some lawns, then had some more pills then played hockey...) i played like an old lady and the shriner let me know it...hey, i'm old and sore..so sue me. i scored a goal but last night almost anyone could have scored on that guy last night...i think corie scored one as well...his was more like a real goal.
tonight i'll head out to issy's for dinner with gary and katrina...i never spell her name correctly..sorry. turkey, spuds, some green stuff and maybe pie...issy puts out a good thanksgiving spread...
i may head out directly from issy's tonight on a little quick road trip...do the I-5 boogie to s.f. and maybe even LA to see the new shepard fairy show. LA is unlikely but you just never know. then again, i may not even go. but the lure of a pancho villa burrito is just too much sometimes. plus i'd love to have the el presidente again in los gattos at andale...that was a hell of a burrito.
so who know? not me...
i had an end table/display box thing made thus getting rid of the old aluminum and wood tabke i had there before...it's looks ok. i think it'll do the trick. barry at bronco plastics knows what's what...

well, it's official, the yankees suck. and even if the tigers don't go on to win the baseball world series, they've done me proud. not since the days of trammel, gibson and lemon in the mid 80's or the greatness of mark fidrych in the 70's, have i been as happy wth a win by the tigers. the yankees year in and year out are there, in the playoffs, with their high payroll and crew of underacheivers. i love it. last year their loss to the red sox, a collapse against the angels a couple years before that, the florida marlins taking them to school...it's great. george steinbrenner is a jackoff...goo times. and any team with a chain smoking manager gets my vote. every time.

i have a sore fuckin' back..and neck...and...am i just getting older and getting to the part of my life where it's all about maintainence? will i ever learn to spell correctly again...?
anyhow...
went for dinner last night with all the kids..i originally had asked the voltage kids for dinner and then they had to cancel, then they said they could... it's all so confusing. anyhiow, in the end the garbs, network and corie attended as well..still keeping it at my six person maximum.
i found out last night as well, that megan, one of my favorite topanga employees, is leaving to go work at westjet...first, at jj bean, a couple of my favorite baristas hit the road and now megan...i'll live but i'll miss her...good luck megan...

i need a chiropractor....

best of the blog part seven

first day off from shitter...hung out with the garbs, went and picked-up my new end table/box thing (pics later) and thought i'd watch the canucks/red wings game...but it's not on tv...oh well...best of instead...

so it's over..two things...shitter or shooter, depending on how you look at it...my last day was today but i'm sure there will phone calls for the next few days...questions to be answered, etc..always is...or...always are..whatever. i'm going to be heading off sunday night for a little 'end of the show' roadtrip...where? i have no idea. maybe to an in-n-out burger location, maybe gerlach, s.f., portland...i really have no idea. i became increasingly bothered nearing the end of this last show and make no bones about the fact that it may have been the hardest film i have ever worked on. mentally very straining. i will have to stop doing some things i do, things i do as favors for the guys because i like tio help them out. but sometimes i spread myself too thin trying to get it all done...i'll figure it out... joel and i had a talk the other night and we decided a week or so off will be good for all garn...it was also suggested i do other little things to make life at the shop just that much better. things that are completely outside my nature, things i am uncomfortable with but, if that's the way it has to/should be, i'll do it...i'm too tired to let it bother me. he wants me around, but, i need to be a little more..um...agreeable...it'll all be fine. i love those guys. all of them. we all went for lunch today to kirin on alberni street...dim sum..kinda. a little of this and that. and jim rowe, another production manager we work with, picked up the tab...nice. the chicken was awesome! i'd go there again just for that...we've been there a couple of times now...it's kind of a upscale waiters in white aprons chinese food place. bring yer visa card...

woodward's met it's match last week and i finally found the time to take a few pics of the scene as it is now. now you can see it...in all it's glory.




dinner at issy's sunday...i'll be carving the turkey...that'll be a good time...

the new big rookie produced shirts come in a week or so as well...sort of a salute to Yaletown. they're good. the kids should like 'em. stay tuned.
