my man muc

muc's in town from smithers and i got to see him yesterday. he was suppose to be here for just a couple of days before he got back on a plane and headed to edmonton to see his folks (mina and brent - the shums - were already there...) but his first flight got cancelled due to the snow at the airport and his next flight would have been today and he was going to be coming back xmas day so he decided not to fly all the way there for one day...so i was lucky and got to see him and hope to see him again before he leaves. good man that muc....
even though it looked like a shiteater today with all the new snow, i was out and about driving around seeing how marcy's car handled in the snow. marcy and i traded cars since the element has on-demand all wheel drive and is better in the snow than her honda civic...and since she was going to be driving to william's lake to see byron's mom and i was staying here, it made sense to swap. i got an text from her today saying it all went well...and it went well for me today as i buzzed around town getting stuff done and just having fun in the snow...
i'll probably stay home now and take it easy...i'm getting up at 4:30 am to drive shauna to the airport...hopefully the flights are all leaving the tarmack tomorrow morning.

have a great xmas eve kids.

merry christmas suckers!

yesterday, as has become the tradition, i put on the santa suit and made my way around granville island...the story of the suit is this...one year at the topanga cafe christmas party during the gift game, mishi got the santa suit as her gift. it's a cheap, crappy, made to break and rip, santa suit...and we love it. it's been to england and the dunkle's, and now lives at the pickle - and i wear it once a year. the kids love it. yesterday a few kids made b-lines to me and just had to hug old santa...little old ladies wanted kisses and hot chicks totally ignored me.

good times.

and from our man in idaho

cam's down in idaho right now doing whatever it is people do down in idaho and sent me this picture of some great huevos he had down there... so great! i may have to find that place once the weather gets a little better...
and on the weather front, as you may have noticed, no pics or report of me being over at floyd's place on the island...nope, i didn't go...too much of the white action for me to get to his place. we'll figure out something as soon as this shit get cleared up...

i know, i know...

according to the garbs, the mash-up is so last year...well, i still have a place in my heart for it/them - not all, but some...and this girl talk cd - feed the animals - is pretty good....and while most mash-up cd's/songs are made up of a couple of songs spliced together, this shit is bananas...sorry, it's made up of hundreds of songs and bits....check it out...

snow day....

last night we decided, my dad - floyd - and i, that maybe i'd try and get over to naniamo monday and not sunday as originally planned...well, as i write this it's still snowing and is said to be worse over on the island so...maybe tomorrow will be a snow day as well...
i spent a lot of the day today driving around in the snow...and it was no big deal but it is fairly entertaining watching the spin-outs and mishaps of others in the snow...shauna called me today and we ended-up going to granville island and over to the new meinhardt's over on arbutus and had no trouble at all getting around...i hadn't seen shauna for a bit and it was nice to hang out with her and help her pick-up some of her xmas gifts that she'll take with her to saskatoon...her family set a $$ limit and the gifts were/are to be all consumables and there were some good finds at meinhardt's...
tonight was the topanga xmas party as well....on the way there we stopped by don bull's but he wasn't home, but we met his neighbour, good guy....he liked us i think. we also called jen with one N but she wasn't home either....it snows and then no one's home...so on to the party we went...
the party was good, nice to see some old pals who don't work there anymore or who have been away for a while - some now pregnant, some back from france......and the gift game where stealing others gifts is encouraged...i got a book i was happy to get and no one wanted to steal so i was happy with that too....
ok...well..i better get to bed and figure out in the morning if i'm heading off to the island...

good times.

the best of the blog pt. 5

and to all a good night...

in case you've lost track and were wondering...rich 'rock' priske still owes me money - loser....as does that laurie mercer guy - super douche bag loser. i know i'll never see any money from either of these guys but, i just wanted to send some xmas cheer there way....
oh, and anyone who has been here, to the house, will know about the dude and his girlfriend who lived on my floor, got evicted for destroying their rental place and then ended-up back here living in another apt. owned by one of the council members...and how he was mr. super positive long hair guy...and that the council member dude he befriended always defended him, etc..well, he's now fucked over him as well and now owes him three months rent and has been given the boot...again. thank god...that's a good xmas present. oh, he also flooded the guy's apt. and ruined a couple places below him as well...and his girlfriend who lived on the first floor, she flooded that place as well...happy times...
i think i figured out the cake thing...i remember now, kind of. one night we were at topanga and it was a saturday night and because they're not open sundays, they had some cake they needed to get rid of because they wouldn't serve it monday...so we, i think the garbs took some as well, took some home...and i think that was many months ago...many. i had a bite of it last night and it wasn't so good....so, if you ever get cake, don't leave it in the freezer for more than six months or it will taste dry and shitty.
i took my car in yesterday for regular service and after i picked it up and was driving home, it started bucking back and forth and coughing and weezing all the way across the granville street bridge...nice. now the engine light is on and i have to go back and find out why i can take a car that was running great, in for service and it comes out running like a heap.
i'm suppose to go to floyd's tomorrow for dinner but i'm gonna have to check the weather as vancouver island has been geting a lot of snow and i'm not crazy about ending up in the ditch - as much as i love floyd's cooking....
ok...i need to go and get shit done...

have a good saturday...
