congrats to corie on the success of his t-shirt show at the I-BAG gallery last night - big thanks to jim cummins for hosting the event and of course cam for helping out so much..
a good time was had by all and while i could go on and on about it i'll let a few of the pics i took last night do the talking...

hey...i do live at 1680 after all...

so telus has finally come on board and admitted that i do, indeed, live at 1680 west fourth. nice. sure, the internet can't be switched until the 8th of december, but, that's ok at least they know where i live. the phone will be up and running shortly before that. i was gonna get rid of my home phone since i don't use it but i have to keep it for the alarm company so the monitoring works...so be it.
in other news. some cutting of walls and cabinets will be taking place very soon as my stereo receiver is too deep for the wall unit - that's not removable - and there's no way around it. i sat there last night after i had put most everything else away and looked at it for a while trying to think of other options, but none came to mind so...if you're handy with a jigsaw come on over. it'll be fine in the end, i hope, oh i know, but this new place has thrown a few things at me i wasn't expecting. all good. no problem.
funny too. or as well. i sold my old psb speakers to paul - great speakers but a little too big for the new place - and bought a new pair of smaller psb's...but asked the store - commercial electronics - if i could leave them there and pick them up later. sure, no problem. well, when i called there two days ago to ask them another speaker related question, they told me my speakers would be in the store in about five days. huh? where were the ones i bought? that were suppose to be sitting downstairs? waiting for me to pick them up? um...well, we don't know. oh. ok. so now i have no speakers. nice. but that's ok. i have a receiver that won't fit anyways.
in other news.

corie's t-shirt show is tonight and you really should be there. i'll be there. i think. it has all the signs of being a huge deal now with lots of folks attending. and i love lots of people around me art art shows so...it'll be great...i just may have to go home and re-group before everyone else. i also have to be on the first ferry over to naniamo tomorrow as i'm going to floyd's for dinner...i fuckin' love the ferry.

ok. shit to do.

the best thing to start doing at 9:00 p.m. is...

...assembling your new platform bed.
yup. it's possibly the best thing you can do. sure, you try and tell yourself to just go to bed. that you should just leave it until tomorrow, but the boxes are calling your name..'open us. have look. you know you want to..'
and before you know it.
so there i was in my bedroom - already barely keeping inside it what i've already put there with don bull's help - assembling a platform thingy that weighed a ton. really. not like an ikea hollow frame thingy. solid. heavy. cumbersome. slightly dangerous in such small surroundings. you kinda had to be there. my partially black and blue and blood under the finger nail index fingers tells more of the tale.
and in the end, i have even less room than i had before. you don't get a lot of bedroom for the money these days.
it's kinda embarassing really. but hey...it's just where you lie down.

new action.

well..i saw my t-shirt show shirts and they look pretty fuckin' good...i also got an e.mail from rethink, a t-shirt company, and ordered up a shirt i wanted from them before but they didn't have the size i wanted...so that's cool too. mine are orange as well...

and speaking of cool...you should come to the t-shirt show saturday. i'll be there.

g. xo

people. they's whack.

i tell you what. having people parade through my place on a nightly basis - or so it seems - looking at my place to see if they want to rent it, is an interesting exercise. it's a bit like dating. i think. a lot of 'i'll call you'. 'i love it...let's talk to tomorrow...'...and then, nothing. i'm beginning to feel cheap. i've had two couples look at the place over the last two nights and both loved it - the couple last night wanted me to say yes right then and there...i told them we'd talk in the morning but that i could see no reason why i wouldn't rent to them. and i would. i will. but now, total silence on their end.
all good. they can decide not to take it. not to want it. no problem. i have others who want to have a look so maybe one of them wants to rent it...but the not calling or responding to calls or e.mails is bullshit.
onward and upward.

g. xo

bed frame anyone?

i have this EQ3 metal and wood slat bed frame thingy...anyone need one. at EQ3 it would be 150 plus tax...

for you...much cheaper.

g. xo

for sport.

i've never been one to drink as a result of stress or in troubled times as i don't, or didn't see it as a means to anything, in the end. i, however, in the past week or so, have taken to having a few beverages purely for sport. ok. fine. to calm my worried mind. or something. not more than a couple of drinks - well, saturday corie, neil and i had more than two each but, that's an exception to be sure. the other night, as i moved, yet, another load of stuff to the new place, i stopped in at topanga for a quick meal as i still didn't have any food at my place, and found myself with a margarita and beer in front of me. thanks goodness. that and the taco and enchilada made everything ok. my drinking, drinking days are well behind me, many years behind, but i still do love a good margarita and that dos equis ain't so bad either.
the boxes have given way to art work yet to go up - although the majority of art has found a place and new home on the walls of the new place. it's feeling better there. still a ways to go - stuff finding a home in a closet or cupboard, a desk to be made, books to be put on shelves that don't exist yet, a bbq to be bought (damn, they's expensive for a decent unit...but well worth it...), a table for outside to be made - paralam and aluminum..., a bed frame to be put together, etc...but soon, very soon, a housewarming thingy/open house will be happening soon - i'm hoping that this will happen before xmas...complete with floyd's world famous baked beans, garn's pulled pork sandwiches and sonoran hot dogs...plus some veggies for the weak of heart...or those wanting to save their heart.
oh. shaw finally figured out that i do, indeed, live at 1680 not 1698...so that's good...telus, on the other hand, is having a problem with this...still. more as this develops. it's pretty good though.

have a great thursday.

may be true...

this is getting bad.
according to my pal anita - who works at shaw and is a great gal....the building was to have been changed to 1698 from 1680 on sept. 28/09. and she gave me the name of the woman at my developer that/who changed it.
if this is true it opens a whole can of worms. i've already changed my address with the post office, telus, fido, etc...and all my mortgage papers say 1680.
i sense a big bag of shit is about to smack me in the head.

i'm trying to remain calm.

1698

according to shaw cable, specifically a woman by the name of fabiola, my new address isn’t 1680 w. 4th but instead, 1698 w. 4th. sure it is. how could I be so stupid? all those documents i signed that had 1680 all over them were, indeed, wrong. they’ll move my cable to 1698 but can’t move it to 1680. and another guy at shaw suggested i bring down my papers to prove that’s where I live. pardon?

funny stuff.

i had no problem moving my hydro or telus thus far. the postal re-direct has seemingly gone through but old fabiola seems to be an idiot. and it’s not that she just misguided, which could be the only thing wrong here, because she could be getting some bad info…it’s the tone. the condescension that she uses…that i don’t know where i live.

i’ve made a few calls.

constructionist sherman give away.

hey there kids!
i do love both of these items but, alas, they are not going to make the trip west. i went to both of these shows in nyc and brought home the prints as momentos, had them framed but now they can be yours.

let me know if you'd like them...if not on to craigslist they go.

moving out....

moving in...

did as much as i could by myself yesterday...then corie stepped-in and helped me more my couch (along with some help from lacrosse tough guy neil..) so now all that's of the big stuff is my bed - which we're gonna try and fit in to his truck later today.
i'm a little tuckered out i must say...up late after a great break from some drinks and food at topanga...but it's all coming together. more today.
i'm gonna move lary over now...

more later.

lost and found.

more and more boxes are and have made their way over to east/west fourth. yesterday morning, before work, i took some over and again last night. it's a sea of boxes over there now instead of here but soon that will change as i have been putting away a little each time i have been there. i'm gonna try and move some of the bigger items today - whatever will fit in the element and may take a load in larry and then leave him there in his new parking spot. lucky fella.
the parade of possible renters continues tomorrow as it did last night as well. i had two perspective sets of renters here last night looking around and two different sets of people you've never seen in one room. well, sure you have but, not in this place. the first guy was a very nice, polite, shoes off at the door, fella who was so pleasant and great i would have given it to him on the spot except in all fairness to the other couple that showed-up shortly after him, i had to hold off. they were nice as well, well, she was but her boyfriend was a bit of a wad. very, very cool - or so he thought, aloof, a rebel, spoke to me as if he was kinda doing me a favor by being there....she was nice and asked the right questions and all i could think was, "dump that fucking loser..." even though i have some others coming tomorrow, if mr. polite can provide references and such, he's the man. he loves it here and wants in - or so he said. good guy and he's a pastry chef so...
and to those people who called and e.mailed and didn't show-up...go fuck yourself...
as i was talking to him, senor pastry chef, i looked down and saw my glasses underneath my coffee table...so not only is he a good guy, he's a lucky charm..so now i don't have to go and buy new glasses...so you can all stop looking now...nice.
ok...here we go.

have a great saturday.

the first to arrive.

so i went down today at lunch and picked-up my keys and such. the lovely juliet came along as did the fabulous mishi. i had put a few boxes in my car this morning so i had something to move in right away - kinda fun.
it all looks pretty good.
we went for a little walk around downstairs to look at where i'm going to be parking larry and the elephant and it couldn't be much better. two spots, side by side, right next to the elevator. the bike storage/storage locker is nice to. a good size with lock-up inside for the bikes.
i may go back tonight and drop-off some more boxes. i know that's exciting for you to know.

have fun.

and so...

...it was at 3:00 pm(ish) today that i received this missive;

.......

I am pleased to advise you that I have successfully completed the
purchase of your brand spanking" new home" and the registration of your
new mortgage with First National Financial (WOW!!!!).

Thank you so much for allowing me to assist you and I hope everything
was satisfactory for you. You should be receiving a copy of all of the
unofficial registered documents to your new address and in a about a few
weeks a certified true copy of your State of Title Certificate.

It was pleasure meeting you and dealing with you and I thank you for
allowing me the opportunity to be part of this transaction for you. May
you have abundant blessing and good luck !!! Please keep my email handy
just in case you wish further clarification or future services.

Congrats once again and God Bless!!!!

........

that was from the notary i had been using to sign and re-sign a million papers, editha corrales. a big thank you to her for putting up with me as i sat in her office melting down one signature at a time.
a much bigger thanks to a couple of fabulous babes i couldn't have done any of this without - and i mean that...
juliet nicoll, super duper all-star realtor who really put up with a lot from me and i thank her from the bottom of my heart for hanging in there. i would recommend her services to any of you who need such services. all the hugs i could give you wouldn't be enough to say thanks enough. but thanks. you're the best.
and to tania campfield, perhaps the world's best mortgage broker, more thanks, huge thanks. she, too, had to put up with me and my ranting and raving and strange phone calls and meetings at my office...god bless you. and again, i would recommend tania for all your mortgage needs. wicked smart and also very easy on the eyes. (did i say that out loud...?)
and to my uncle glen, without whom a lot of the financial wrangling that went on and went well in the end would never have happened. his advice, and the high priced advice of some of his colleagues, was invaluable. i love you, man. so many burritos are on me from now on.
and to my friends, especially those i work with 12 hours a day, every day, day in, day out, months on end, thank you and also, i'm sorry. i've never been so up and down in my entire life. you're all excellent and the best crew of misfits i could ever be asked to be associated with. really. i love you all, but each in a slightly different way. and to my other pals - all of you - thanks! you had to put up woth a lot as well. soon we'll be bbqing on my new deck and talking smack. i love you.
and to issy and floyd. the kind of thanks i can only give a parent. both so kind and generous and caring throughout this ordeal. thanks. i can't thank you enough.

and to you.

thanks.

ok...short for spring.

that was a tough one i have to admit. and i've had time to think it over, and over and over, and i've, i think, identified a few of my latest triggers - one being this one person i have to deal with in regards to the moving and transferring of money etc..and i just need to keep her at arm's length. nice woman, for sure but, she has the ability to wind me up like no other...it's the truth. i hear her voice and my brain gets going a million miles an hour. and i know she's just doing her job but there's some sort of pavlovian thing that gets me drooling like a bloodhound whenever she speaks...
ok. so onward and upward.
i had an interesting weekend as well that kinda threw me and i'm still a little shell-shocked by some of those events as well...this to shall pass. it will. one day i'll eating a burger on my new deck wondering what all the fuss was about...i hope.
i need you all to know, at least the ones of you i know because there are people who read this that i don't know....it's the truth, i need you to know that i love you. truly. i do. i'm a handful. i know it. but i'm your handful. and you mine.
hope springs eternal. my hope starts now.

coming clean.

so many things i want to tell you...(beware a rambling post by a guy on the edge coming...)
sometimes you try and do the right thing and it all goes in the shitter...and so it was tonight at bomber hockey...i won't go into the details but, suffice to say, lines got crossed, things were said, and in the end, i couldn't do much right but, that's kinda been the theme of my month thus far - not on purpose but, it's the game the world's playing on me right now...
i'm moving into a place i have now nicknamed "the mistake", and while i'd like to be excited, i'm not. the paperwork and bank shit and notary and...it's a fuck i'll tell you. i hope to never buy another place in my lifetime. truth. i just need to get in there and start living there and try and forget the past few months of shit. and after the dust settles, after this current show is over, there's talk of a long break until our next show. nothing like getting a big new mortgage and no way to pay it...the good times, they keep on comin'.
speaking of shit...heartache is at an all-time high...not that you care. it's a bitch out there...oh, that's a bad word to use, because i don't mean it that way at all...but i think there's a good chance i'll be watching a lot of tv and blue-rays by myself over the next year or so in my new place...which ya know, may be for the better...ask anyone who's dated me...it's really not worth all the trouble...
and in the last month i've also managed to alienate one of my favorite people in the world...i'm hoping he'll come around the new place and fall asleep on my couch like he used to do...i miss him.
i'm also trying to warm-up to the idea that two good friends, and maybe two others, will be going away for some time to work on films. while i am very happy for them (and a little jealous) and i do consider myself a loner to a certain degree, i will miss them and miss dinners and just having them around...
time. i need time. we all do. i know my elbow sure could use some as i can't bend it or move it any way right now...something going on there...
i'm not a fan of my life right now. but, so be it. what can you, or in this case, i do...? short of sticking a gun in my mouth, there's not much to do.

have a great monday.

pretty.

she told me she wasn't pretty, that she was just very photogenic, but not pretty. i get it, i told her i did. we spoke for hours. on the phone. on the way to work, i'd call her just to hear her say something. anything. her heart. her voice. i'm not pretty. she told me this, more than once. i'm photogenic. is all. the first night we ever met we drove around for hours in my car, aimlessly. every once in a while i'd pull over and stop the car and pull her in for a kiss. at a light we kissed while the light went through its paces changing from green to amber to red and through again. other cars made their way through the intersection, none stopping or making anything of the fact that we were stopped at a light. kissing. paying no attention. we coursed our way across bridges and through the streets, talking, stopping to talk and kiss and tell stories of the lives we had lived. i told her i disagreed with her that she wasn't pretty. she smiled.
i remembered a time when a single kiss had stunned me. once. now, maybe, twice.
i'm not pretty she said. i'm just very photogenic.

old is new and those fucking boxes...

nice boxes...a few of the many...

i was in a ring wearing mode last night and broke out the 'larry' ford falcon ring mishi made me years ago...i love that ring. i loved that car.

well, it wouldn't be a week in garn's real estate world without a mini-meltdown and this week was no different. i had to go over a notary public's place (like a lawyer but just a little more insane..) and sign some more papers pertaining to my new place over on east-west fourth. i'm suppose to get the keys to 'garnville' island on wednesday so...i guess they figure they're getting their money. currently this place, that never really got a good nickname, although i tried initially to get people to call it 'the yard', is a sea of boxes and just wicked to be in. mishi came over on wednesday and we packed-up a storm. by this time next saturday most of the boxed stuff here will be sitting in the new place. hopefully. i don't know when i'm going to actually sleep there. some day.
and i'll tell you it's weird having people come by here and have a little look around and decide whether or not they want to rent it...i had a great young couple come by on tuesday and frankly, if they had asked if they could have it i would have said yes. sure, a background check and all the jingus but, such a nice couple. alas, i think they're not going to take it but...another couple has asked to come back and have a look. so...we'll see. i've dropped my price to a more reasonable level, not that i was outta line but, i thought i'd start high and move from there. 'he who can not be named on the blog' figures that i should try and get a drug dealer in here. they have lots of cash and don't want to own.
i went out last night with jenny to the newly re-opened Habit for dinner, a place i had only been a few times before and thought was ok...and it was pretty good...we were lucky and had a great server who made it fun. hey i used the word fun. that's neat. anyhow...some mussels, fancy squash perogies, lamb meatloaf and beet salad...pretty good. then it was time to come back home to the stacks of boxes. love it.
so now it's errand saturday with a game in the middle of it and then dinner with mishi later....pretty good.

have fun today.

marcy and i have had a few PBR's together, most recently at a richmond fontaine show in seattle at the tractor tavern - fitting really...so when i found out today that the brewery was for sale at an asking price of 300 million, i had to make my play. sure. i don't have that kinda cash, but i do have a little bit a can throw in the hat. they're getting pledges to buy the old girl, and i'm in. check it out here. make a pledge. come on. you like beer doncha? don't be a sissy. and i don't mean spacek.

gastown pack-o-rama

Hhmm…

I’d tell you about my weekend if there were anything to report. For the first time in a long time I had nothing I had to do…which was nice really. I had told Megan I would help her install some new shelving she had bought from the depot, but other than that, I was freewheelin’. Which included a lot of hanging around the house wondering if I’d ever get my act together and start packing my stuff up…and Issy, bless her heart…yesterday at work a gentleman shows up with boxes, and tape and packing paper that she had ordered for me so I could pack my stuff up…nice…Issy’s the greatest!

So last night I did, indeed, pack a couple (well, three) boxes and will be getting too more tonight…hopefully. I’m not big on this moving thing. I have only moved twice in the last 20 years so, I’m not a fan. Mishi may come over one night and help me pack some stuff and Thursday Shauna’s coming over to go through some odds and ends she has had in my closet for the last year or so. I’m gonna start posting a few things on here that I want to pass on to those who may want such things – a couple prints, some kitchen stuff, books, clothes, etc…some good stuff really but stuff that won’t be making the journey across town.

I’d don’t usually pass along links to blogs but this is a good one to check every day or so…

Have a great Tuesday.

this is where the strings come in.

yesterday was the big day. or at least one of the days that bring this condo thing closer to reality - a reality i haven't started to feel or, maybe, realize, yet. yesterday was my deficiancy walk-through at the new place. this is where you - in this case me - walk around the new place looking at the finishing, the paint, the lights, the plugs, the baseboards, make sure the doors all close and open, the toilet flushes, etc...and whatever doesn't gets fixed and you get a date of completion. and that's what happened. i had asked my uncle glen to come by and help with the look as well as the fantastic juliet nicoll and it was great to have them there...glen also brought along my aunt denny and my cousin roz...so we had a lot of eyes looking for a lot of things to fix...nice. i now know when i will get the keys to the new yard and when i can start moving back to kits after, nearly, 13 years away...and ok, for you sticklers, yes it's not kits proper but it is more kits than less kits. did that make sense? 'he who can not be named on the blog' refers to it as east-west fourth. one other quick-witted blog reader and bomber, matt, suggested 'garnville island' as it's close to granville island. good one. but there's no turning back now - and i guess there hasn't been for a while now...soon i'll be moving and finding new homes for all my crap. mishi's gonna come over and help me pack and purge. look for books and some prints to be offered here soon for free...and other stuff...
sadly, along with getting rid of shit i need to get some items for the new abode. a new bbq, i'm making a table for the deck, a new tv since the one i have is too big for the new place, some stools for the bar area, make a platform or buy one for my bed, shelving, etc...blah, blah, blah....i'm gonna go out today and look at tv's...i'm also, sadly, getting rid of my old beautiful psb speakers in favor of some smaller units...pragmatic, that's me...
this is the first weekend in recent memory that i don't have lawns to cut or hockey games to play...so i may treat myself to a little movie action today as well...interesting...
have a great saturday...

like when i was doing porno

***this post may not be for the weak of heart...or for moms***
(i mean, i think it's funny but...)

as some of you may know, i am moving back to kits and part of that process is finding a tenant for my place in gastown. i have been letting people know and seeing what happens next.
here's part of 'what happened next'.
my chiropractor mentioned, after hearing it from me, to one of his patients that i had a place for rent after hearing she was looking for a new place. he gave me a call and asked if he should pass on my contact info and i said yes. shortly after i received a phone call from a woman and after a short chit chat, which included her asking me my sign, etc. we set it up that she'd come by thursday evening and have a look at my place. cool.
i came home from work last night and as i was making dinner she called and said that she had just left her yoga class and that she'd be right over. i should mention that she is originally from the philippines and had a very strong accent that made certain things hard to understand but it was all good. so she was on her way over. from yoga ok. good. i kept cooking my spaghetti.
when she arrived at my front door, in her yoga gear, i almost felt like a joke was being played on me. in a good way, but a joke none the less. there, at my front door, stood a 5 foot nothing woman dressed in yoga gear, as an outfit, wearing bunnie fur boots and carrying an umbrella. and her yoga top could have been a size or two too small...maybe. she introduced herself and came in and immediately took off her yoga jacket, such as it was, and made it clear that her top was, indeed, a little small. she was clearly pretty free-wheelin'.
we chatted about our love for our mutual chiroprator, how he had helped us and...then she kinda started telling me her life story in a very casual way. (all in this thick accent...)
"well, when i was dancing...."
"oh, you were a dancer?"
"yes"
"um...what kind of dance did you do?"
"i was a stripper"
"oh. cool. i used to dj in strip bars. when i was younger, years and years ago."
"oh, maybe that's where i know you from"
"i doubt it. but maybe."
she went on to tell me about the restraining order she has against her former boyfriend - a guy i may know because he works in the same business as me. how he was connected to the hell's angels, her dancing days, and going back to work at the five orange, etc. all very informative.
good times.
and then she said...as i sat in my chair eating my dinner...
"and like when i was doing porno...."
"oh...you did some porno?"
"oh sure. from maybe 1993- 1995...or so..."
"hhmmm..."
she then went on to tell me about who she had worked with, the local companies she had done work with, the size of some guy's wiener...i don't know why but she did...and how he 'did it'... something i can not say here as it would clearly offend most of you as it made me almost bring my spaghetti out my nose.
anyhow...
"did you have a good porn star name?" i had to ask.
"they called me XXXX"
"oh. cool."
then she started telling me about her new little chihuahuas and how she wasn't suppose to have them where she was and...
"you know this place is not for me...it's nice but.."
"that's cool."
and with that she called a cab, put her coat on and, after a hug, was gone.
i sat back down, finished my meal, put my hockey gear in my bag and went to the rink.

one of these days i have to write a book.

tide.

while it's hard to hate jeter, it's easy to hate a-rod, but, what can you do? they, the yankees, won the world series last night in convincing fashion so, that's that. it was a disappointing series in that all the games started too early for me to see them...except for the weekend game but i was too busy being a dick to see it...anyhow...it's over, a-rod gets his ring and the rest of those guys get new rings as well. congrats.
the tide has turned and is now running fast and i'm about to get caught up in it. i have been waiting for the call to do my walk-through on my new place in kits and the call came the other day so...friday at 1 pm i'll be walking around my new place looking for shit that's not right...but hoping to find none. and if it all goes according to plan, i should get my new keys on the 18th of this month. kinda exciting but also very nerve wracking. so wish me luck...
i just came back from the ethical bean and saw one of the van-cocks as we like to call them, wearing a brand new yankees hat...what a surprise. it's like some fucked up tradition. a team wins something and the next day every jerk-off fence sitter is out wearing the winning team's jersey or hat...super fans. super jack-offs. and as i walked in wearing my KC hat he gave me this look of superiority....i good punch to the throat would solve that smile.
the olympic rings were lit last night or today, i dunno, out in burrard inlet...nice. apparently they will light up in some sort of way when the canadian team wins a gold...so i guess we won't be seeing that fantastic display much...maybe they'll have to re-think that plan and just have it go off anyways so they get their moneys worth.
i need boxes. packing up is gonna be so great. i love moving - that's whay i've only done it twice in the last 20 years...i'm gonna purge some more so look here for stuff i'm letting go...i'm sure there will be some decent stuff...

ok. have fun.

miserable.

i was. and mishi told me so. and i don't blame her for a second. i was tired yesterday, not feeling great, the weather sucked, my plans for things i wanted in portland changed...so i didn't know why i was there. yes, it was good to get away to a city i love, with two people i love as well...but something wasn't working for me. i sank into a hole and couldn't get out. and the trouble with that, when you're away is you can't just go home and re-group or call it a day. nope. too far away. i think portland has, for the time being, lost some of its charm. la bonita was great. but the other meals we had there were, in my estimation, shitty. today i was no better. sore. sometimes it feels like my body is really beginning to fail me. and i'm not sure my brain could make sense of staying in a hotel with an ex and her boyfriend - even though it's all so many years ago...still, it reminds me of my failures - as great as our relationship is now. whatever. so to them, sebastian and mishi i'm sorry for the crappy trip to portland and my funk.
there's a lot of other shit going on as well, that as much as i think it's not a deal, it obviously is. stuff i can talk about, and stuff i can not. topics and issues that when they come up i pretend to listen and care, but i don't. and it's getting harder and harder to pretend. it's hard to be happy when you know things that are going to happen, are just gonna make you sad, or lonely, or both. or uneasy. or...so many emotions.
i'm also wary of certain people now. people i thought were friends - close or otherwise. but friends none the less. people i helped out of jams, lent advice, gave the benefit of the doubt, saluted in one case - in a way...and then got pissed on. so be it. i see change coming. less of things for them, more for me.
i also wonder about the blog at all. i can't be as truthful as i would like to be. i think i have to keep it all kinda light and fluffy and not let the true emotions i may be feeling come out. why? because i know some of you, the readers, are people who don't know me well. who are not part of my social circle. you are people i work with. and i have to be careful.
a co-worker told me the other day that every new morning allows you the opportunity to re-invent yourself. i think about that often. i have had trouble putting that into practice. maybe i will soon. the move, whenever that is, will, hopefully help this along. the one bag you always pack is yourself. maybe i need to pack a better self.
ok. the blog will continue i think just maybe not updated as often. but then again, maybe it will. i'm making no promises.
