lights, action, hockey...hey honey, can you take me to the hospital?

yup...
after cutting the grass at king edward and windsor, thanks to shauna giving me a ride up there, shauna came back and tole me while i was out cutting bc hydro decided to have an explosion and we were without power...nice. we decided to get on our bikes and get a coffee and a snack and whatever... while riding the bike was fun and such, the neck and back really started to act up so i chose to go back to the couch for some relax action.
then, like an idoit, i decided playing hockey would be a great idea. who cares if i can't turn my head, or skate well enough, i wanna play....so off i went. and by the time i got home i was fucked.
seriously fucked.
and at 5:30 am i had had enough of the pain and literally slithered off the bed and ot dressed and tried to make a break for it...the emergency dept. of st. paul's hospital...i had almost made my getaway when shauna woke-up and asked me what i was doing...busted. she was less than impressed that i would leave without asking for a ride or help or both...
so off went to st. paul's together. good times.
and by 6:15 am i had a whole new set of drugs in me and a prescription for some more...
so i see more traction in my future, more drugs and maybe some other such things...pilates, acupuncture maybe...

hey have a great day....

here are some wicked lawn pics....

old manitis

i have never had this much pain in my back before. i have been doing the home traction but not often or regularly enough and i had a flare-up friday that's still with me now....worse than ever. i took six back pills with codeine yesterday in a two hour period and nothing. i may as well have been eating smarties.
so far this morning it's two codeine, three advil. we'll see what happens. i have a big lawn to do up on windsor street and a hockey game at 8 pm....i hope i have enough pills.

have a great day....

lightning strike

wow...
it's been a couple of days alright.
i don't really know what the fuck. i have been, the last few days, splitting my time between battlestar galactica - now done done done, and supernatural....not done, not even close. some late nights on supernatural. home around 2:30 am on thursday morning and i rolled in around 5:30 am this morning and then was up at 9 am to go knowck off a couple lawns i needed to get done...there were actually four i needed to get at but due to a lack of rain and other concerns, we only mowed two and went and looked at another to give a quote on...

the other morning before work on supernatural ang and i cut three lawns before i had to head off to the land of craft service...i'm trying to keep my cutting confined to a couple of days in a row during the week but this movie/tv stuff is kinda fucking that up...oh well...that's life in the big city.

we're off to cirque circus tonight with issy - shauna and i are...and maybe if i get up the gumption, i may meet shauna up on main street and go to an open house warming thingy....but i'm pretty set in the red chair right now...and i need to eat...something.

more later...

here are a few pics from the last few days....have fun today.

that's mr. redneck to you...

...yup, got a little sun today out on the set of supernatural...some kind of kids tv show..ok, teenager show...it's spooky. i figured it was gonna be a nice day but, as usual, forgot to use any sunscreen so, i have a nice super duper red farmer tan...
it was good to get out and work on set with dar and james....good guys. i didn't know any of the other guys, well, not personally, i knew names and reputations....some good reps, some bad...one such guy, ian korver, is a good guy who at the end of the day gave me a ride home...thanks ian.
this morning at 5 am issy and i headed out to set which was out near the boundary bay airport...she's a winner that issy. i made it out to tsawwassen last night around 10 pm after cutting a few lawns with ang and then getting the famous south delta 601 bus near the art gallery...issy and i watched a little tv and then it was time to sleep...i was tuckered out but had a shitty sleep because i couldn't clear my brain out....and really, a grown man sleeping at his mom's so he can get to work on time in the morning....and her having to drive him....wicked. one of life's speedbumps...i'm making it ok...
then after 14 or so hours of work in the fuckin' sun, i got out of the car in fron of my building and realized that if i called a cab and got my shit together pronto, i'd be able t make my 8:45 pm hockey game...the bombers are playing 4 on 4 summer hockey - very much like pond hockey. lots of skating, breakways and we 've enlisted some other players from other teams we usually play against to play with us so it's good fun...and you sweat like a fat kid cutting lawns in august...we won, i think 6-4...i had two breakaways, but no goodness, and, in fact, had a bunch of shots but nothing...

ok...i need to get to bed, i'm working battlestar galactica tomorrow...wicked!

sleepover at issy's...

ok...

i'm off to my sleepover at issys....

see ya tomorrow.

me, the bus and rimpy.

yesterday i hopped on the silver people's limo and made my way out to the shop to make a new platform thingy for our bbq. the bbq just takes up to much valuable space out there with it's side attachments/shelves that jut out from the thing like wings...what i have now is a more streamlined thing that gives me more dance room action by allowing me to push it back farther against the railing - because i built it higher so the lid won't hit the railing when you rasie it to see what's cookin' - and instead of taking up 40 plus inches side to side it now takes up 25...i know, this is all very interesting but if you needed more space on your balcony you'd think this was rad. i still need to make a door to hide the bottle and decide on placement but....good times bbqing ahead.

on my way home on the bus my stop had an ad for a realtor named rimpy. i couldn't resist. i have no story, no real reason for reporting this or taking the picture...i just love that name...wicked!
ate like a champ with marcy last night at topanga...she drove us there in her new car, well newish, and she has seemingly mastered the art of standard driving - something she used to do all the time but hadn't in a while, maybe not since we went to france....anyhow we ate like champs and then i convinced her to help me get the bbq platform from the shop to my place....thanks marcy....it was a little heavy and shitty to take on the bus...
ok...i'm off to help ricardo from headquarter measure up some shelves he needs made for his new store in richmond...very exciting....and maybe cut a few lawns this afternoon...maybe...i have to make my way out to issy's tonight as i'm going to stay over night there so i can get to work by 6 am...no bus service that early to the bowels of delta..
details, details...

super bike ride, super lunch, supernatural

today, after doing some domestic duties, i headed out on my bike - cruiser version - and got to running a few errands and then heading down to granville island and the pickle to visit mishi and the garbs...mishi was heading things up at the pickle as the garbs was making a late entrance today and she didn't want to leave the pickle as there were a lot of people hanging about so i trucked off to the market to get us some snacks...a little salami, some cheese - that paid for at the market and am paying for again right now - olive bread, butter beans, tszaziki, grapefruit juice, yogurt, etc...nice...and then a coffee at the jj bean courtesy of my man chris...it was a good little feast. the garbs showed up as we were finishing up but wasn't hungry (?) but did share half my cookie from terra breads...good to see hadn't lost his love for food...
fat and happy i headed off to listen to some rock at zulu just in case someone actually released something good...there were a couple of things but nothing i really needed and really, the next best record will be the new lambchop album coming in august i think....stay tuned...
then i headed up arbutus, through the fancy folks homes in shaunessy and area and along king edward to main and to voltage to see the voltage kids...erica and brea were there but christian was playing hookey...good for him...we talked about the platform i had made which, apparently, the club - the modern - wants to buy now...they like my handiwork...nice.
then a nice ride down main, a trip through strathcona and then home...where i got a phone call from my man, james vlasbom, who works on a show called 'supernatural'...he called my bluff of wanting to come out and work on his show as a day call mook...so now i'm working monday morning at 6 am in delta...good times...i'm looking forward to it...
big friday night here...
the new summer hockey starts monday evening - i'm hoping to get home in time from delta for this - and i thought it was a good time to wash my gear. my lawn cutting hats also needed a good wash so i did them as well...man, i do know how to rock a friday night...
see ya tomorrow....

the garbs takes the wheel....

i called the garbs today and asked him if he could give me a ride to the shop because he had today off from the pickle...he really is a big part of lawn order and hasn't been out in a while but i thought we could ease him back into the driving game by having him help me with a couple of things - he hasn't driven in years - and then as he feels better and more comfortable he can take the weight off of ang as she drives all the time.
we went to the shop, where i had to fix one of my mowers - from my vast fleet - and then put all the jingus back into the elephant - the lawn order shitola, and have it ready to cut on friday....but then we decided to cut one or two today...and one or two turned into six...we kicked ass garbs style...and he drove like a champ.
then it was off to topanga where we ate like champs.

ok...time to relax....

night night s. xo

the face of brain freeze at topanga...

garbs and kristina (she lives next door to lisa) she's a very nice woman who is, apparently, a great baker - we've yet to find this fact out...i cut her section of lawn next to lisa's place and sometimes she slips me a twenty...nice. her dog's name is kojak.

ang rocks the highway, i sleep on the pavement...

...it's good to be home...
i had a good time in sask. visiting the folks - and i had some wicked photos of friets and her mom (sharon as the kids call her...) but i think i accidentally erased them....or someone else did...) and i don't have them to post anymore...so...that's that. lucky for them.
shauna's grandma pearl really is wicked and i am very happy to have made the ride to visit and meet her...same with friets - good cook, good guy, good lookin'. he and i had some guy moments that i really enjoyed...sharon was great as well making me feel at home although i had to ask her a few times if she was on the crack - something i ask my own mother from time to time - maybe it's a mom thing....thanks sharon as the kids call you.
ang and i hit the road early yesterday and ang powered through like the trooper that she is...ang finally, after 12 plus hours of driving (not bad for a rookie....lol), needed a little nap action so we stopped in hope and pulled in behind a grocery store and set the car up for sleep action. i was not comfortable and decided i'd be better off - after some pacing around the 'hood, to just get the blanket and pillow and sack out on the pavement next to the car. i had a few conversations with people cruising the alley but all in all it was ok...for pavement.
we got going about five hours later and made it home at around 3:30 a.m....sleepy but happy to see my own bed. ang sacked out on the couch and after getting up and starting some laundry, as usual, she booked off home to see what awaited her there..
good driving ang....good work.
as it turns out, i am only one month gone into this driving ban...nice...two to go. wicked. anyhow...i'm making it but it's a test to be sure. i don't think i'll be going on anymore long road trips where i can't drive for a while but the day to day will just be, the day to day....
the garbs is on his way over....i'll talk to ya soon...

g. xo

mishi and garbs took care of my plants and such while i was gone and they really took off in the few days i wasn't here....thanks kids!

pearl loves pocky...

it's the truth. here's the proof....

we've been visiting shauna's grandmother, pearl, every day and she's a pistol. loves to tell jokes - usually dirty or slightly off-color, loves seeing us, loves when i give her wheelies down the hall and loves the bbq (we didn't know she did until we had a bbq at her place which ang's grandmother, ethel, attended as well...)
it's been hot here, in the 30's most days. rained like a bastard last night - sheets of rain and then for good measure some hail...our bedroom window was open and within a minute - or the time it took us to get upstairs, our bed and everything on it, was soaked...good times.
shauna's mother and her husband friets, have been great - feeding us and making us feel at home...her mom is a laundry junkie like ang and i and maybe actully does more loads than i do...maybe.
tonight shauna and i took a long drive around the 'toon looking at all the homes she used to live, we walked near the river and earlier drove out the highway to take some shots of the vast wonderland that is saskatchewan...
i've taken to relaxing, reading several hundred pages of a book i've been trying to get back to over and over again....eaten too much and slept even more.
tomorrow morning ang and i will hit the road back to vancouver and all that that entails...back to the lawns and maybe, some work in the world of film...

see you soon...

here are some pics....
